Show Notes

In this episode I have a very franc conversation with Steve Johnson on his views of how the west has been interfering with effective management of Africa's wildlife and what needs to happen if we want wildlife to survive the next 30 years. We also dive into authentic power and leadership and what that looks like and he shares some moving stories of his life in rural Africa.

Steve has 45 years of experience the conservation industry. He started as a game ranger and quickly made his way in the industry. He works at the policy level both regionally and globally with organisations such as; European Union, GIZ, IUCN, SADAC, UNDC and US AID in relation to conservation. And most recently he has been working on combating wildlife crime in Southern Africa.

He has recently set up Growth Leaders - www.growthleaders.co.za with Dr John Griffen and Jonathan Hall to develop leaders within the conservation industry and related industries.
